Audition for Overboard

Summer Intern

If you're a college student or recent college grad residing in the Boston area and want to continue your a cappella career, come audition for one of our coveted Summer Intern positions! As an Overboard Summer Intern, you will function as a full-fledged member of Overboard for the summer (roughly May 15 – August 30). You will gain invaluable skills as a singer, musician and performer, logging well-over 100 hours of singing throughout the summer months. You'll be expected to learn our entire summer repertoire and to perform at most performances. Summer interns are typically featured on our recordings; for example, last year’s intern, Dave, is the soloist on two tracks from our most recent album, "Help!". As such, recording experience is a plus, but not a requirement.

Your attendance to all Overboard gigs and rehearsals is mandatory, so you will need nights and weekends free, as well as the flexibility to do occasional weekday gigs. Although this position is unpaid, you will be given room & board, as well as a small stipend towards your expenses.

We are auditioning all voiceparts in search of our newest member. Must be a 21-35 year old male with experience singing contemporary a cappella. A high level of musicality and a flexible schedule are required for this position. We maintain a VERY busy schedule and this year is likely to be our busiest yet! Ability to read music is highly preferred, as are arranging skills, recording experience and a broad vocal range (including vocal percussion skills).
