The Sing-Off Returns! CASA’s Season 4 short list

Psyched to find out we were included on the Contemporary Society for America’s casting short list for Season 4 of NBC’s The Sing-Off, alongside a bunch of other talented groups and many good friends.

Here’s what they had to say:

“Pedigree: at least a few TSO alums (Nick Girard, Johanna Vinson, Eric Morrissey)

Why they’re contenders: stellar arrangements mostly by Girard, powerhouse vocals by all members, lots of recent touring should make for an incredibly gelled group, great energy and guys-with-one-girl lineup.”

Not bad, right? Check out the whole list here: http://bit.ly/12f7QqY.

All for Love (from London)

Hanging out in our apartment in London, thought we’d throw down one of our old favorites. Hope you enjoy!

Well, we’re in Austin for South by Southwest and it’s… crazy. So many people, all full of passion for music, film, art, BBQ, everything. It’s such an inspiration to be here and to have the chance to share our music with y’all.

People you should know: Michael Eldrege

As always, it was a huge honor to work with photographer and friend, Michael Eldridge, this time in Los Angeles. We’ve had the pleasure of working with Michael at other events including VoCALnation in New York City, SMACC in Syracuse and SoJam in Raleigh-Durham and each time he impresses us with his ability to capture the intensity, enthusiasm and vulnerability we strive to bring to our live show.

Even more than a talented artist, Michael is also an incredible educator: his workshops, “Feeling Music” and “Seeing Music” are both moving and masterful. We’re so honored to be able to work with Michael and to count him as a friend. Looking forward to seeing him again in a few weeks in San Antonio, TX!

Production Season is in full swing…

Eric with Cat's Meow It’s that time of year again! Collegiate groups everywhere are starting to work on their new albums and we’re pumped to be working with some brand new clients this season and reuniting with some old ones. Even better, Eric’s joined the Overboard Productions team as a tracking engineer. Hope he’s ready for 10 weeks of no sleep and no sun. Then again, he looks pretty happy here recording the first round of tracks for the UVM Cat’s Meow’s newest album. We think he’ll make it.

Keep an eye out for the Meow’s latest release, due out in May.

“Being apart ain’t easy on this love affair…”

There are some incredible songs out there that express how strange and lonely it can be on tour… Journey’s “Faithfully,” Jackson Bronwe’s “The Load-Out, maybe even Carole King’s “So Far Away” (even if it’s not, you should stop reading right now and go listen to it, because it’s incredible).

Well, we probably didn’t write the next great touring song, but we did write one tonight in our hotel room, circa Pittsburgh. We each wrote a verse, dedicated to our loved ones on this (almost) Valentine’s Day. Hope you enjoy!
