Cornerstone Bookstore
Historic Salem may be New England’s best known spot for the end of October haunting that is Halloween. Two weeks later, however, the ghosts have stopped their wailing, the streets have been cleared of gobblins and the witches have hung up their broomsticks. In fact, aside from the harsh brogue of a North Shore resident, the only sound to be heard last Saturday night was the harmonious blend of Overboard at the Cornerstone Bookstore.
This was our second performance at the store, and once again we were met with gracious hosts and an excited crowd. The store supplied room for a few dozen people, allowing an intimate show between the do it yourself and historical fiction sections. We lit up the stage with an off-mic performance of some of our more classic songs, including “Good Ol’ A Capella,” “Sister Golden Hair” and “It’s Alright,” and answered audience questions about our musical background, day jobs and even about our personal lives.
Aside from always enjoying the Cornerstone Bookstore, this gig was particularly memorable as it was the first performance for our newest member, Larry. Thanks to Beth Simpson who helped organize the event!
