The members of Overboard are committed to giving back to the community by volunteering their services at a variety of local and national non-profit events. Special Olympics of Massachusetts
The Special Olympics of Massachusetts provides sports training and athletic competitions for individuals with developmental disabilities. In support of the great work done by the athletes, coaches and family members, Overboard will be singing the National Anthem at the 2008 Special Olympic Summer Games on June 13th and will be meeting and greeting athletes and their families at Olympic Town on June 14th.
Avon Foundation
The Avon Foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of women and their families. As part of that mission, the Foundation's Breast Cancer Crusade is committed to raising money and awareness for education, prevention and treatment initiatives. On March 15th, Overboard performed for volunteers and walkers at the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer Expo. On May 18th, the group was on hand again to cheer on walkers as they completed the grueling 2-day, 39-mile walk.
Relay for Life
Relay For Life is an overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money for the American Cancer Society. In awe of all of the participants' hard work and dedication, Overboard performed at a Relay for Life event in Needham, Massachusetts on May 17th.
New Hampshire Public Television (NHPTV)
Lifelong viewers of Public Television, the members of Overboard were thrilled to donate an hour-long performance to New Hampshire's PBS Station, NHPTV, and were honored to perform live on-air during the Spring Auction on May 4th.
Eggstock
Begun in 2005, Eggstock is an annual music festival held on Flamig Farm in Simsbury, Connecticut every June. The goal of the festival is to raise money and awareness about environmental issues affecting us all. Overboard was thrilled to entertain audiences at the 2007 Eggstock and were privileged to perform their cover of the Beatles "Here Comes the Sun" in commemoration of the unveiling of Connecticut's first commercial solar photo-voltaic system.
